In order to create its own BassForecast Rating system, the app did some digging into temperature transfer reports from water engineers and Bass feeding behavior research reports from fishery biologists. The system takes a look at past and future temperature data, using something called the Temperature Time Lag Effect© because water temperatures take a bit longer to catch up with air temperatures. It also takes into account things like how many hours of daylight there are during each season, the speed and direction of the wind, what phase the moon is in, when Bass are most likely to chow down, what the sky looks like, if it's raining, and what kind of atmospheric frontal conditions are happening.
