Euchre is this awesome card game that you play with a deck of 24 regular playing cards. You need two teams, with two players on each team. The goal is to win most of the tricks in the hand. If your team gets three or four tricks, you get one point, and if you manage to snag all five tricks, you get two points. But here's the kicker: if your team can't even win three tricks, well, tough luck! You'll get "euchred" and the other team will score two points instead.

If you've got really good cards, you can go it alone in Euchre. That means you're trying to win all the tricks without a partner. If you manage to pull off this feat, your partner still scores 4 points. But if you only manage to win three or four tricks, then you'll only get one point. And even if you get euchred while playing alone, the other team still only gets 2 points. The main thing to remember when playing Euchre is that you don't have to play the trump suit unless it's the one that's led. But you do have to follow suit if possible.
