The Android Accessibility Suite is a bunch of cool apps that help you use your Android device even if you can't see or use the touchscreen. It's got all sorts of handy features like the Accessibility Menu, which gives you a big on-screen menu for stuff like locking your phone, adjusting volume and brightness, and taking screenshots. Then there's Select to Speak, which lets you choose things on the screen and have them read out loud to you. Switch Access lets you do everything on your device using switches or a keyboard instead of touching the screen, and it even has this crazy option where you can control it with facial gestures using Camera Switches. And lastly, there's TalkBack, which talks to you, lets you control things with gestures, and even has an on-screen braille keyboard for typing. Cool, right?
To get all these cool features, just follow these simple steps. First, open up the Settings app on your Android device. Then, look for the Accessibility option and tap on it. Now you'll see a bunch of features to choose from: Accessibility Menu, Select to Speak, Switch Access, or TalkBack. If you specifically want TalkBack, you can even activate it by pressing and holding both volume keys. Oh, and don't forget that you need to have Android 6 or later for the Android Accessibility Suite to work. And if you're using a Wear device for TalkBack, make sure you have Wear OS 3.0 or later installed. Easy peasy!
When it comes to permissions, Android Accessibility Suite needs access to some stuff on your device. It checks out what's going on with your phone so it can give you the right announcements depending on whether you're on a call or not. Also, as an accessibility service, the app can see what you're doing, grab info from your screen, and keep an eye on what you're typing. These permissions are important for the app to do its job and help you out.
Includes TalkBack, Accessibility Menu, and more.
