FakeGPS is this cool app that lets you trick other apps into believing that you're somewhere else by faking your GPS location on your phone. It's got this Tasker support thingy and you can even start and stop it using the command line. But hey, here's the thing, once you use FakeGPS and then uninstall it, your location might get stuck at the last fake spot you used. Don't panic though, it's not a glitch or anything. There are two simple fixes for this: either grab GPS Status from the Play store to get a fresh GPS fix, or just set your real location and chill for a few hours. Easy peasy!
If you've got a rooted device, you can totally fake your location without bothering with the 'Allow mock locations' setting. All you gotta do is grab Root Explorer or some other cool app, and then move that FakeGPS apk to either /system/priv-app or /system/app. Oh, and don't forget to change the apk permissions to rw-r-r before giving your device a reboot. But hey, if that apk magically vanishes after the reboot, it's probably because your device is in S-ON mode. In that case, just hit up Google and find out how to switch it to S-OFF mode. Easy peasy!
Just a heads up, this app is given to you as it is, and the developers can't be blamed if you use it in any way. It's a free app with limited features and it's only meant for testing.
All in all, FakeGPS is a nifty app for folks who want to trick their phone's GPS into showing a fake location. But hey, remember to watch out for any hiccups that might pop up and make sure to follow the suggested steps to sort 'em out.
