Greenify is a super handy app for Android that helps you save battery and make your device run better. It was like, totally praised by Lifehacker as the number one utility in 2013, and even Android Authority thought it was one of the top three best root apps. With Greenify, you can use cool features like 'Aggressive Doze' and 'Doze on the Go' to save battery power on Android 6+ devices, no root access needed. It's pretty smart too because it figures out which apps are being naughty and puts them to sleep when you're not using them. That way, they won't slow down your device or drain your precious battery life. And don't worry, hibernated apps will still work perfectly fine when you open them or if other apps need to use them.

Greenify doesn't gather any of your personal info, even though it uses the accessibility service. It only uses this service to automatically put apps into hibernation mode. Just so you know, when an app is greenified, its background features like services, tasks, alarms, and messages will be turned off unless you're using the app. So, it's best not to greenify alarm clock or messaging apps that you rely on. It's a good idea to check how greenified apps affect ones you heavily depend on.

The app needs some permissions to work properly. It uses the device administrator privilege to quickly turn off the screen after automatic hibernation on devices that are not rooted. The 'draw over other app' permission is used to dim the screen when it's supposed to be off during automatic hibernation. The 'disable screen lock' and 'bind accessibility service' permissions are necessary for automatic hibernation to work on devices that are not rooted. In addition, the app needs the 'get accounts' and 'write sync settings' permissions to control how often apps sync their accounts. Greenify also uses accessibility services to automate the hibernation process.

Greenify has this cool donation package for users who want to show some love for the app and unlock some awesome experimental features. With this package, you can totally greenify system apps and get all the juicy details about how your apps are behaving on your device. And guess what? The app's translations are done by a bunch of awesome folks from the community, so if you feel like contributing, go ahead! Oh, and if you happen to find any bugs, you can report them either on the XDA forum or in the G+ community.
