Hey guys, PdaNet+ just dropped version 5.10 and there are some pretty important changes you gotta know about before updating. Oh, and don't forget, you'll need to update the Windows side too.
If you still need the original WiFi Hotspot feature, you can find it in the separate FoxFi app. However, it might not work on newer phone models due to updates from your carrier. And even if it does work, there may still be a limit on how much data you can use. But don't worry, there's a solution called WiFi Direct Hotspot that can fix both of these problems. Just keep in mind that this new feature isn't meant for gaming devices, TVs, or TV streaming devices. On the bright side, the USB mode works on all Android phones (except for some ZTE/Alcatel models) and allows you to connect to Windows or Mac. Plus, there's a cool 'WiFi Share' feature that can turn your Windows into a WiFi Hotspot so you can share your PdaNet Internet with other devices.
Whether or not you need PdaNet+ depends on the data plan you have for your phone. Most carriers offer four different kinds of plans. If your plan falls under categories 1 or 2, then you'll definitely need to use PdaNet+. However, if your plan is in categories 3 or 4, using PdaNet+ won't make a difference. If you're not sure which category your plan falls under, it's always safe to use PdaNet+. The free version of PdaNet+ has a time limit for usage, but other than that, it's basically the same as the full version. Just a heads up though, Sprint and AT&T might not allow you to download the app from the Play Store. In that case, you can either download the apk file directly from their website or install it from your computer.
Hey guys, guess what? PdaNet+ just dropped version 5.10 and it's got some pretty cool changes you need to know about before you update. The best part? They've added a brand new feature called 'WiFi Direct Hotspot' that lets you connect your computer or tablet to your phone using WiFi. How awesome is that?
Want to connect your computer or tablet to the internet using your smartphone? No worries, you don't need to root your phone for that!
