SECTION 1:

SMS Backup & Restore is a cool app that makes a copy of all your text messages, picture messages, and call logs. You can even use it to bring back old messages and call logs from previous backups. This app has some awesome features like backing up stuff right on your phone, automatically saving everything to the cloud, setting up regular backup schedules, and easily searching through your backups. It works great on Android 5.0 and newer versions, but it needs permission to access your messages, calls, contacts, storage, network, social media info, and even start up with your phone. Oh yeah, it also needs to stay awake so it doesn't snooze while doing its thing and it wants to make sure it can access protected storage too.

SECTION 2:

The app can also send backups to another phone, clear up phone space, email a backup file, and check out the XML backup on a computer. Just remember, this app only restores backups it made itself. So, make sure you've got a copy of the backup stored somewhere other than your phone before doing a factory reset.

SECTION 3:

The app needs to get into your messages, calls, contacts, storage, network, and social stuff. It also wants to start running as soon as your phone boots up, make sure your phone doesn't fall asleep, and check out protected storage. Plus, it can move backups to another phone, clean up space on your phone, send a backup file via email, and let you peek at the XML.
