NetGuard is this cool app that acts like a firewall for your phone. It lets you block internet access for certain apps and addresses, without needing to root your device. So basically, you have complete control over what can connect to Wi-Fi and mobile networks. And guess what? This not only helps you save data and battery life, but also keeps your privacy intact. The best part is that it's super easy to use, totally open source, and doesn't track you or show any annoying ads. Plus, it's always being improved and works with Android 5.1 and newer versions. Oh, and it supports both IPv4 and IPv6 protocols too!
NetGuard not only has all the basic stuff, but it also has some cool PRO features for those who really know their stuff. You can keep track of all the outgoing traffic and even search and filter through access attempts. And if you're into analyzing traffic, you can export PCAP files too. Plus, you have the power to allow or block specific addresses for each app, get notified about new apps, and check out network speed graphs in the status bar. Oh, and did I mention that the app looks awesome? It's got a slick design with light and dark options, and you can choose from five other themes too.
NetGuard is a cool app that uses the Android VPNService to do its thing. Instead of filtering traffic on some boring server, it does all the work right on your device. The only bummer is that because of some Android rules, only one app can use this awesome service at a time. But hey, if you're into coding stuff, you can check out the source code for NetGuard. And if you have any questions or problems, just shoot an email to the developer. They're super friendly and helpful! Oh, and if you're good with languages or want to be part of the test program, there's a chance to help translate the app or join in on testing. Pretty cool, right?
