The Council on Children and Families is this cool organization in New York that helps make sure kids and families get the care they need. They bring together health, education, and human services systems to make everything work better. One thing they're doing is this awesome grant called New York State Birth through Five. It's all about making sure every kid in the state gets a fair shot at getting into really good early childhood programs. And hey, they also have this website called NYS Parenting that's all about helping parents and caregivers. It's funded by this Preschool Development Grant Birth through Five Initiative thing and it's got all kinds of info on parenting, child care options, worrying about your kid's development, and how to work with their teachers.
The Council has made a bunch of stuff to help families in New York State figure out the complicated care systems. Every Student Present is a resource that shows families why it's so important for kids to go to school all the time and how missing school can mess up their learning. The website has videos, tips, and resources for parents and families. The Multiple Systems Navigator is a helpful website that has info on health, education, human services, and disabilities all in one place. The NYS Parent Guide gives parents and caregivers five things they can do to make a strong, trusting relationship with their child. It also has info on how kids grow up and lots of other resources for parents and families. The NYS Child Care and After School Care Locator helps parents find child care and after school programs nearby. It even tells you if there have been any problems at each place.
Besides these resources, the NYS Office of Children and Family Services has made this cool 8-minute video called Your Child Care Options. It talks about all the different places in New York State where you can find child care. They made all these resources to help families like yours get the care and support they need to raise awesome, happy kids.
In a nutshell, the Council on Children and Families and its gang of agencies are hustling hard to make things better for kids and families in New York State. They've got cool stuff going on, like the New York State Birth through Five grant and the NYS Parenting website, that hook families up with all the goods they need to tackle the tricky world of care systems and get the help they're after.
