The U.S. Department of Transportation's Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) just dropped the 2020 Emergency Response Guidebook (ERG) for all our brave first responders out there. This handy guide is gonna help them deal with hazmat accidents like pros. It's got a big ol' list of all the dangerous goods out there, complete with their ID numbers. Plus, it's got all the important info on general hazards and safety precautions to take. This stuff is super important because it helps our emergency responders quickly figure out what kind of material they're dealing with based on those DOT hazmat placards, and they can respond accordingly within the first 30 minutes of an accident.
