Hey there! If you're in Wałbrzych, you definitely don't want to miss the Magdalena Abakanowicz: Presence, Essence, Identity exhibition at the Old Mine Science and Art Centre. It's a collaboration with the All That Art Foundation in Wrocław and it's going to be awesome!

The exhibit at the Old Mine Centre for Science and Art is all about Abakanowicz's career. It's got a bunch of her most important works that deal with stuff like freedom, loss, resurrection, destruction, identity, and being different. They've got over 100 sculptures on display to help us get what she was trying to say about Presence, Essence, and Identity. She totally changed up the sculpture game by always coming up with new ideas. This show is following up on the super successful 2017 exhibition in Wrocław called Effigies of Life: A tribute to Magdalena Abakanowicz. It's all about celebrating the friendship between Abakanowicz and curator Marius Hermansdorfer.

The stuff in the exhibition is from different collections, including the artist's own stash, the collection of Irmina Nazar and Artur Trawinski, the MARe Collection, and the NOWA 20_21 Collection. This cool retrospective is happening in a rad industrial and public space that adds a totally unique vibe to checking out the art. You can get up close and personal with Abakanowicz's mind-blowing sculptures and see how she's always been pushing the limits of what art can be.
