The OBD II engine ECU diagnostics tool is a super handy device that connects to your car's OBD2 engine management system using a cheap Bluetooth ELM/OBD adapter. It gives you all sorts of real-time info about how your car is doing, like engine fault codes and sensor data. Plus, it can even export map/track log files to Google Earth KML/CSV and has a customizable dashboard with different themes. Pretty cool, right? And the best part is, it can help you fix your car and save you some serious cash on repairs. There's a free version that lets you try it out and see if it works with your vehicle/obd2 adapter combo, but if you want more features and support for more vehicles and ECU types, there's a paid version too. So go ahead and give it a whirl!

The paid version of the OBD II engine ECU diagnostics tool is packed with extra cool stuff. You'll get to check out horsepower, torque, and even do tests like 0-60 and quarter-mile sprints. Plus, you'll have access to graph data, map/track views, and zero annoying ads. It's got your back with awesome ABS/knock sensor support and can even measure transmission temperature for certain car/truck models (think GM/Ford). And guess what? It also handles turbo boost for a bunch more rides, including VWs. This tool is a total champ when it comes to working on cars made by Ford, GM/Vauxhall/Opel, Chrysler, Mercedes, Volkswagen, Audi, Jaguar, Citroen, Peugeot, Skoda, Kia, Mazda, Lexus, Daewoo...the list goes on! Basically all kinds of vehicles from Europe to the US to the Far East. Just keep in mind that some ECUs might have different features than others.

Just a heads up, if you're experiencing any issues like freezing or hanging after closing the app, it's actually because of a bug in the HTC Evo 4G and Galaxy Tab. This bug gets triggered when you use certain Bluetooth enabled apps like Pandora, Vlingo, or Aldiko. But no worries, you can fix this problem by disabling Pandora's new Bluetooth settings. However, it's up to HTC and Samsung to release a proper fix for it. Also, in case you're using the pro version, it supports USB ELM adapters that use either 'Prolific' or 'FTDI' chips. And hey, good news! There's a workaround available for the freeze/hang issue in the full version under General Preferences settings.

In a nutshell, the OBD II engine ECU diagnostics tool is super handy! It gives you real-time info on how your car is doing and saves you moolah on repairs. If you're really into cars or work as a mechanic, it's totally worth splurging on the paid version. It has extra cool stuff and works with more car models and ECU types. But hey, heads up! There's a bug in the HTC Evo 4G and Galaxy Tab, so be sure to steer clear of that mess.
